Radon occurs naturally and enters building structures as a soil gas that utilizes existing cracks in concrete floors or walls, open soil in crawl spaces, improperly or poorly sealed floor drains or pipe entry points in floor slabs. Without significant ventilation and air exchange in crawl spaces and under the floor slab (sub slab ventilation and air exchange in crawls spaces of homes and other structures. Radon can also cause severe respiratory problems, and it is important to ensure home owners that radon gas is not present. The radon is collected by the SafeHome Inspector into cans and analyzed by the lab. The cans cannot be open for more than 48 hr's.
